Firm Unveils SDN/NFV as a Service
Netcracker Technology is leveraging software-defined networking (SDN) and network functions virtualization (NFV) to offer a full-stack package for delivering turnkey cloud applications and virtual network services.
Targeting the service provider market, the Netcracker Business Cloud seeks to help them quickly deliver full-stack, modular B2B solutions spanning components such as connectivity/value-added services, productivity/Internet of Things (IoT) applications and more.
The goal, Netcracker said, is to help providers more quickly launch customer solutions combining, for example, connectivity such as SD-WAN with network services and applications such as Microsoft Office across different environments including private and public clouds.
“The time has come for service providers to adopt new approaches when offering virtual network services and cloud applications, as the traditional CSP approach of ‘do it and build it all yourself’ takes too long and is too expensive,” the company quoted IDC analyst Karl Whitelock as saying. “When B2B customers are moving at the speed of the digital economy, time-to-market becomes a critical success factor. Solutions such as Netcracker’s Business Cloud, which can be deployed in a matter of weeks not years, address this challenge, enabling service providers to rapidly seize new business opportunities without significant disruption to the business.”
The company announced the new service at SDN NFV World Congress 2018 being held this week in The Hague, Netherlands.
