Chennai-based Cheeni Labs, the company behind Komparify, an online aggregator of mobile, broadband and DTH plans, has acquired mobile recharge plans discovery platform iReff in an all cash deal.
The financial details of the acquisition were not disclosed by Komparify.
Cheeni Labs intends to run both Komparify and iReff apps independently, and believes that the smart recommendation engine of Komparify and iReff’s balance and recharge tracking technology will help in enhancing user experience.
Komparify guides users on the best mobile, broadband and DTH plans suiting their usage and preferences, aggregating information from over 100 operators across the country. Ireff is a Bengaluru-based startup providing prepaid plans information via an app.
Komparify currently has over 4 million monthly users, and 8 million downloads. Founded seven years ago, Komparify is bootstrapped till date, and claims it is on track to hit $15 million in transaction volume this financial year.
“We have been working with iReff as partners for a couple of years and have always respected the clean app. We are proud to acquire this asset and bring choice to Ireff customers to discover plans from more services and allow transactions using India’s most cutting edge payment products,” Jigar Doshi, co-founder, Komparify, said.
“iReff was the first app for the discovery of recharge plans and we quickly became the leader in this space. With Komparify, our users will now be able to do the same for mobile postpaid, DTH and streaming services”, Nizam Mohideen, co-founder, iReff, said.
Komparify also plans to introduce a streaming services section as part of its comparison engine, where it will aggregate movies, TV shows etc. from various OTT streaming services, and said the functionality of the entertainment section will also be rolled out on the iReff app.
