Airbnb announced the introduction of Plus Homes in India on Friday. Airbnb said verified for both quality and design, Airbnb Plus is a new range featuring ‘high calibre’ Airbnb homes and that every Plus home is visited in person and verified against a 100+ point inspection checklist to ensure greater comfort and quality.
Currently available in over 41 cities across the globe, Airbnb said Plus celebrates hosts who go above and beyond in their pursuit to provide the very best to their guests. Airbnb Plus grants these hosts 9 times the visibility and the capability to earn 75% more, on average, than other listings.
Nathan Blecharczyk, co-founder and chief strategy officer, Airbnb said: “We think there’s a rising tide here in India. Travel to emerging economies is expected to increase at twice the rate of travel to advanced economies from now until 2030, which is a truly promising opportunity for Airbnb in India.”
Airbnb said more than one million Indians have travelled with Airbnb globally in 2018 and there has been a 115% increase in Indian listings over the past year.
“Increasingly, more Indians want to travel on a frequent basis which is a millennial trend, and with 410 million millennials—more than the entire population of the US—making up the dominant segment of consumers; our focus is on making sure there is an Airbnb for everyone.” — Amanpreet Bajaj, country manager – India, Airbnb added.
