President Donald Trump’s two choices to fill Federal Reserve board spots will get their confirmation hearings Thursday before the Senate Banking Committee.
Judy Shelton of California and Christopher Waller of Minnesota have been nominated for two open governor positions at the central bank.
Shelton is an advisor to Trump who has advocated for a type of gold standard and has said in interviews over the past several months that the Fed should be cutting interest rates. Waller is executive vice president and director of research at the St. Louis Fed.
