Parents will now be able to set 4-digit pins for individual profiles that prevent kids from accessing them and also creating new profiles on the service.
They will also have the option of removing specific series, films or trailers, following which the blocked title won’t show up anywhere in that profile. Previously, parents could block specific titles or content above a certain maturity level using a pin.
Among other features include the ability to disable autoplay on episodes in a series and keep track of the viewing activity of their kids within the profile created for them.
Users will be able to access these controls as well as review the settings of each profile through the “Profile and Parental Controls” hub in the settings page on their respective accounts on a laptop or a mobile device.
“Choice and control have always been important for our members, especially parents. We hope that these improved controls will help parents make the right choices for their families” said Michelle Parsons, Kids Product Manager, Netflix.
