Solo.io Launches Enterprise API Gateway GlooE
This week at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America 2018 in Seattle, Wash., Solo.io announced the launch of its newest product, Gloo Enterprise, or GlooE. The company describes GlooE as “an enterprise-grade API gateway based on its popular open source Gloo project.”
According to the announcement, GlooE, along with the company’s service mesh orchestrator, SuperGloo, “adds enterprise features including audit controls, single-sign-on and advanced security,” so that enterprises can essentially “glue” different application components together as they see fit. The company says this allows enterprises to create new functionality and “to gradually migrate to multi-cloud at a pace that suits them with the confidence that comes with full enterprise support.”
“Helping enterprises easily adopt innovative technologies like microservices, serverless and service mesh is our goal at Solo.io,” said Idit Levine, founder and CEO of Solo.io, in a prepared statement. “Melding different technologies into one coherent environment, by supplying a suite of tools to route, debug, manage, monitor and secure applications, lets organizations focus on their software without worrying about the complexity of the underlying environment.”
