ThinPrint’s Endpoint Print Management Initiative Aims To Deliver ‘Missing Piece’ in UEMs

This week at VMworld 2018 in Las Vegas, endpoint print management provider ThinPrint Inc. announced its Endpoint Print Management initiative, which is aimed at filling “the hole left by unified endpoint management [UEM] systems,” according to the announcement.

Deployed as a private cloud or public cloud option that, according to the company, can support any endpoints, such as Macs and PCs, Chromebooks, Android and iOS devices, or thin clients, ThinPrint’s new endpoint print management solutions include ThinPrint Hub, ThinPrint Mobile Print, ezeep Dash, and ezeep.

ThinPrint Hub is itself a print appliance that will eventually be managed by a Web-based console, which will also be able to manage other endpoints such as thin clients, the company said.

ThinPrint Mobile Print can manage on-premises from mobile endpoints and works with other endpoint management systems like MobileIron, AirWatch/Workspace ONE and Citrix XenMobile, according the to announcement.

Users can manage local printing for endpoints from the cloud using ezeep Dash, while ezeep is “a complete cloud printing service for all endpoints like PCs, Macs, Chromebooks, smartphones and tablets.”

“ThinPrint’s Endpoint Print Management completes any endpoint management strategy, and is the essential interface that keeps users and their digital tools and devices connected to the physical world,” said Henning Volkmer, ThinkPrint’s CEO, in a prepared statement. “A printed document remains a necessity, as it is the easiest to use and most versatile human interface for our digital applications. Endpoint management strategies without consideration for printing are inherently incomplete and will cost organizations significant time and money.”

The company said that ThinPrint Endpoint Print Management can help eliminate the installation of drivers and “secures print data while stored or in transit, releasing it only upon authentication at the printer.” With the ability to work with any UEM system, ThinPrint is looking for “new ppportunities with its long-standing partners, including VMware, Citrix and Microsoft, as well as new players like BlackBerry, IBM, Ivanti and MobileIron, who all position themselves under the UEM umbrella,” according to the announcement.
