The rejig of FDI guidelines for e-commerce marketplaces forced players such as Flipkart and Amazon to restructure their affiliations with sellers and brands. According to a survey of over 10,500 customers from over 60 cities, 50% of shoppers said they felt discounts offered by online marketplaces had come down post the change on February 1.
Prices weren’t the only thing that went up, delivery times too took a hit as 36% of customers reported longer than usual wait time for products they wanted to buy
